2011 Red Sox Radio Network Affiliates
The Boston Red Sox Radio Network is comprised of 70 stations (46 AM, 24 FM) in the 6 New England states.
On August 26, 2009, Boston's WEEI 850 AM became the official flagship station for the Red Sox, supplanting their sister station, WRKO 680 AM, which had aired Red Sox games since the beginning of the 2007 season. WEEI was the Network's flagship station from 1995 through 2006, after which time WRKO signed a 10-year deal with the Red Sox to be the flagship. Both WEEI and WRKO are owned by Entercom, who decided to make the switch since WEEI is an all-sports station while WRKO is branded as "Boston's Talk Station."
The announcers are Joe Castiglione, in his 29th year with the Red Sox, and Dave O'Brien, who is in his 5th year with the team. Jon Rish occasionally fills in for O'Brien, who will miss about 25 games in 2011 because of his contract with ESPN.
